About Alyce
Alyce King is a disabled entrepreneur, full time wheelchair user, author and accessibility advocate.
Her personal experiences have shaped her passion for supporting others and raising awareness of accessibility barriers. She regularly speaks about the challenges wheelchair users face and highlights areas where access needs to improve.
Alongside her work with Inclusion Support Hub, Alyce is currently training to become a grief and life coach.
Role at Inclusion Support Hub
Alyce supports the day to day running of Inclusion Support Hub as its Admin Assistant and Social Media Manager.
Her role includes virtual administration, communication, social media support and helping members of the community. She also supports tasks behind the scenes to keep the Hub organised and running smoothly.
Alyce brings reliability, creativity and a genuine willingness to help to her role. In addition, her lived experience helps the team consider accessibility from the perspective of someone who regularly encounters physical access barriers.
Accessibility Advocacy
Accessibility is an important part of Alyce’s work and personal advocacy.
As a full time wheelchair user, she has direct experience of the barriers that disabled people can face in public spaces and everyday life. Therefore, she uses her voice to raise awareness and encourage businesses and organisations to improve access.
Her lived experience also helps shape accessibility discussions within Inclusion Support Hub.
Experience & Qualifications
Before becoming a full time wheelchair user, Alyce was a horse rider and ran an equestrian academy.
She later gained a Level 5 qualification in teaching English as an additional or foreign language. After completing her qualification, she volunteered to help Ukrainian refugees learn and improve their English.
Alyce has also tutored children in English, including home educated children and those attending school. These experiences strengthened her communication, organisation and teaching skills.

Writing and Creativity
Reading, writing and poetry are an important part of Alyce’s life.
As an author, she draws on her own experiences to support others. Her book, Becoming a Wheelchair User: Knowing What I Know Now, shares personal insight into adjusting to life as a wheelchair user.
Alyce has also written Heartbreak and Healing: A Poetry Collection Written Completely from the Heart. The collection explores heartbreak, hope, strength and friendship.

Current Development
Alyce is continuing to develop her skills while training to become a grief and life coach.
This area of learning reflects her interest in emotional support and helping people through difficult periods of change.
Outside of Inclusion Support Hub
Away from her work, Alyce enjoys reading, writing and spending time in nature.
Horses remain an important part of her life, despite no longer riding. She also enjoys spending time with others and is known for her sense of humour and willingness to help.
